Volunteer Opportunities

No matter how you slice it - volunteering is good for you.  It launches you in motion, keeps you current on events and focuses your energy outside of yourself and the daily grind. Whether you’re looking for ongoing service, family volunteering or a one-time event, we encourage you to get involved in Dublin through volunteering.

Community Service Day

9 a.m. Saturday, May 5

Join us as we host Leadership Dublin’s annual Community Service Day-a day of outreach and spring cleanup for senior citizens, schools, playgrounds, parks and nonprofit organizations.  Perfect for groups and families, this day of caring is the flagship day of Leadership Dublin’s service as leaders and makes a world of difference to those in need.

Park Mulching and Historic Dublin Planting

9 a.m. - Noon Saturday, May 19

Some extra hands are need in sprucing up the City with mulching/weeding at the family friendly Belvedere Park.

Planting along Bridge Street in Historic Dublin is needed to kick out old-man-winter, so if you're at least 16 come out and help out staff beautify the historic district.

For both projects please follow the link below, we will then send you more information!

Camp Project L.E.E.D.

Leadership…Ethics…Esteem…Duty

In cooperation with the City of Dublin Recreation Services, this award-winning camp introduces young adults to leadership, community service, work ethic, relationship building, self-esteem, and career and social development. Young adults entering grades 7 – 9 combine recreation with volunteer service, working with other summer camps and community activities. Information packets are available in May.

Minimum age: Entering grades 7 – 9

Time requirement: Summer sessions, two three-week sessions

Dublin Teen Corps (DTC)

DTC is a summer experience for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who have an interest in local government and service to the community.  This innovative summer “Youth in Government” program consists of three elements: individual volunteer service, at least one group service project, and interactive group learning sessions on local government & local government careers.  Corps members are selected via an application process and interview with senior Teen Corps members.  Open to Dublin residents and school district residents only.

Minimum age: Entering grade 10

Time requirement: Summer only, one-to-two times per week

Parks Volunteers & The Dublin Green Team

We especially value our award-winning green space, parks and waterways in Dublin and urge residents to continually take notice of their safety and preservation. Green Team members gather for nature education sessions and then volunteer for projects related to the topic. The City also relies on volunteers for invasive plant removal, research, seed collection and wildlife monitoring.  This is a great way to get to know Dublin’s green space and advocate for our environment.

Time requirement: Project-by-project basis

Senior Buddy Program

Adult volunteers interested in helping out a Dublin senior citizen with weekly phone check-ins and occasional transportation needs are encouraged to inquire about this emerging community need.  To become involved with the program, volunteers must be at least age 21 and complete an application process and specialized training.

Minimum age: 21 years

Time requirement: As scheduled with senior match; once per week contact preferred

Summer Events

Dublin’s Independence Day Celebration - Wednesday, July 4

Join our community salute to Independence Day by offering your help.  It couldn’t happen without volunteers helping at the parade serving as marshals, balloon carriers, and lot guides, or in the evening hours serving as ushers for our live entertainment and spectacular fireworks display.  A great way to show your patriotic pride for Dublin!

Dublin Irish Festival - August 3, 4 & 5

Our world-renowned event takes the efforts of more than 1,200 volunteers.  If you don’t already have a wee bit of an Irish attitude, volunteer for this year’s 25th anniversary, and we promise you’ll leave with an Irish heart.  Volunteer opportunities include setup, admission gates, information tents, bike valet, children’s area, ticket sales and more.
