2010 State of the City Address
Dublin City Council and City Manager Terry Foegler recently presented the 2010 State of the City Address and released data from the National Citizen Survey that has been called "remarkable."
For those unable to attend in person, the City streamed the presentation live online.
The presentation included an introduction by Dublin Historical Society President Herb Jones, Dublin City Schools Superintendent Dr. David Axner, and OCLC President and CEO Jay Jordon.
The evening included highlights of the 2009 National Citizens Survey, in which residents’ perceptions of the City of Dublin were compared to responses from residents from more than 300 communities nationwide, in which residents rated their community higher as a place to live than people from any other participating community. You can view the complete survey results.
The City’s scores are significantly higher than the norm for such surveys, according to Tom Miller, president of the National Research Center, Inc., an independent organization that conducted the survey.
Dublin ranked first out of 306 communities in the survey when asked to rate their community as a place to live. Dubliners rated their community higher than people from any other surveyed jurisdiction on City services, overall appearance, and overall image and reputation.
Dublin rated consistently above the national benchmark in all 30 community characteristics and in all 36 government-provided services for which comparisons with other communities are available.
