Recycling Collection
64-Gallon Bins are a Hit in Dublin
Regular Schedule

City residents can place their recycling materials into the proper city provided recycling container. However, they must keep the trash separate. The city provided recycling container is the universal color "blue", designated strictly for recycling."
In addition to recycling plastics numbers 1 and 2, residents also can recycle all plastic bottles with a neck plastics number 1 through 7. Other items residents can recycle include aluminum beverage and food containers; steel aerosol cans; steel, tin and bi-metal containers; clear, brown, blue and green glass bottles, jars and containers; aseptics; newspaper, corrugated cardboard, chipboard-coated cardboard, brown grocery bags, telephone books and mixed waste paper; milk cartons and other cartons with “gabled” tops; and pizza boxes.
Service Issues
If you experience missed collection or any other service issues please contact the Dublin Service Center at 614 410-4750 as soon as possible after the scheduled collection.
The City of Dublin pays for refuse, recycling and yard waste collection for residents. However, there are other things residents can do to help the City keep costs down while providing quality service:
-
The City of Dublin receives a discount for collection for senior citizens over age 65. If you are 65 or older and the head of the household, contact Streets & Utilities at 410-4750 to help the City ensure an accurate count for this discount.
-
Residents who will be away from their homes for three or more months need to let the City know so solid waste collection services can be temporarily discontinued and the City will not be charged for collection at their house.
-
The City provides a blue recycling bin. The residents provide their own containers for waste collection except in the automated collection pilot program. Occasionally, wind may blow recycling or trash out of the containers and into the streets and yards of neighborhoods. When that happens, help keep Dublin a beautiful community by picking up materials and disposing of it properly.
-
If a city provided recycling container gets damaged, residents need to call the service center to schedule a repair at 410-4750. City staff will respond and determine the extent of the damage. It will be up to the city staff member whether the container is repaired or replaced.
-
The blue recycling containers are property of the City of Dublin. Therefore, when residents move from a home, the container stays with the home.
