Are you 55 years or older? If the answer is yes, then you need to get involved with The Dublin Community Senior Citizens, based at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC), which offers a variety of interesting activities designed for ages 55 and older.

AARP Tax Preparation

An AARP volunteer is available for free tax preparation assistance. Bring last year's return, an IRS packet and all pertinent tax information, including your social security information. This service is open to all senior adults. Register for an appointment by calling the Senior Adult Programming Office at 614.410.4550.

Jim Collins, PH.D., has developed and presented continuing education seminars and workshops for more than 18 years and has taught college courses in sociology, psychology, anthropology and gerontology for more than 15 years. Enjoy his signature high-energy, motivational style.
Stress Management for Seniors
Senior stress can originate from relationships, finances, as well as from many other areas of life. Stress management has been associated with increased senior health and well-being. Dr. Collins will cover various stressors and effective methods of stress management. Refreshments provided by Crown Pointe Care Center and Darby Glenn Nursing and Rehab.

Facebook 101 Workshop

Date: Thursday, March 15     
Facebook is the world's leading social network. Bring your laptop to this hands-on workshop as the instructor walks you through the basics of this popular website. Begin with its features and applications and learn to create a Facebook account. By the end you will be able to use Facebook like a pro, upload photos, videos and interact with your friends.

Bees and Their Role in the World

Date: Monday, March 19
Here's the buzz...Beekeeper Jack Everetts presents the different types of bees and honey, other hive products, honey production in the United States and the world, and the role played by pollination. Jack is a member of the Central Ohio Beekeepers Association. Refreshments sponsored by Laurels of Hilliard.

Tuesday Talks: Need a Little Sun Right Now?

Sherry Lowe doesn't mind Ohio's grey days as much since she has a whole house full of suns. Starting with a trip to Arizona 34 years ago, she's collected anything and everything decorated with suns. Sun pots, sun magnets, sun mugs, sun toenail clippers, and so much more. She's in the process of tagging her items with an eye on the Guinness Book of World Records, hovering around the 2,000 mark of sun-trimmed items.

HealthWise Lecture Series: Shoulder Pain

Wondering about treatment options for shoulder pain? Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Jeremy Mathis discusses preventive care, non-invasive treatments and surgical interventions. A Q & A session follows his presentation.

Big Band Dance Party

Dance to the big band sounds of Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, all performed by the 17-piece band "The Swing Machine." Light snacks. The evening is open to all ages.

Ballet Met - The Sleeping Beauty

Friday, March 9
Escape to an enchanted world of castles, curses, forests and fairies as BalletMet brings you the most celebrated classical ballet of all time, The Sleeping Beauty. Set to Tchaikovsky's famously moving score, this fantasy favorite tells the story of the beautiful Princess Aurora whose 100-year slumber can only be broken by the kiss of a handsome prince. We will leave the Rec Center at 9:30 a.m. for general seating of this senior dress rehearsal performance at the Ohio Theatre. Sam Morgante, former White House Chef, will perform mini cooking demos and entertain you with highlights of his career cooking for some of the most powerful people in the world. Anyone 55 or older who shares the goals and objectives of the organization is invited to become a member.
