Achieving “Speed-to-Build” in Dublin

The western edge of Dublin is an area poised for significant change. With approximately 1,100 acres of land located between Avery Road, Houchard Road, Shier Rings Road and State Route 161/Post Road, the EAZ is a key portion of the Central Ohio Innovation Corridor targeted for office, research, laboratory and clean manufacturing uses. With a focus on “speed to build,” the area is a focus for quality projects requiring quick administrative approval. Similar to how Dublin has grown and changed over the last few decades, technology and the way we do business has also evolved. The Central Ohio Innovation Corridor and planning in the Economic Advancement Zone are geared to meet the needs of today’s development environment.

Objectives for the EAZ Planning Process
In considering the future development of the Economic Advancement Zone, the following key elements are being considered to ensure that businesses can develop with "EAZ" in Dublin

  • Adopt a plan for the area that will target future infrastructure and other public improvements in a manner that will provide direction for property owners.

  • Adjust administrative zoning regulations to match the EAZ plan in a straight-forward manner.

  • Foster plans and regulations that will result in “speed to build” within the EAZ.

  • Use plans and regulations to coordinate planning and economic development efforts to work cooperatively with property owners to promote area development within the Economic Advancement Zone and the larger Central Ohio Innovation Corridor.

  • Begin development of a COIC web portal that will provide a consolidated location for development-related information that will better facilitate site selection and development activities in Dublin.

  • Encourage planning and development within the EAZ that will help diversify Dublin’s housing and employment base.
