City of Dublin Horticulture

Under the direction of Parks and Open Space, the Bureau of Horticulture tends to over 80 areas throughout the City, including City buildings, parks, green spaces, bike paths and right of ways. The landscape management plan consists of planting trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals and their proper care; including pruning, water, weed and pest control, mulching, bed design and installation.

Barb Setterlin, City Horticulturist has been with the City for almost 17 years. Barb has degrees in both psychology (Ohio University) and forestry (Ohio State University) and is Certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. Barb oversees a crew of over 20 people during our busy season and loves the instant gratification of horticulture.

Assistant Horticulturist
With over 92 years of combined experience, Dublin's Horticulture Assistants have formal educational backgrounds as well as practical hands on experience in horticulture and related fields in the landscaping industry. Three assistants are certified by the International Society of Arboriculture and 3 hold Master level status as Ohio Certified Nursery Technicians. All are required to hold State of Ohio Certified Pesticide Applicator licenses.
All members of the horticulture staff have served the City for a number of years as full time as well as seasonal employees and are dedicated to improving Parks and Open Spaces by keeping Dublin green and blooming!
