ELECTION OF MAYOR

  • Motion carried 7-0 to elect Tim Lecklider to a two-year term as Mayor. 

ELECTION OF VICE MAYOR

  • Motion carried 7-0 to elect Amy Salay to a two-year term as Vice Mayor.

  • Mayor Lecklider and Vice Mayor Salay took the oath of office.

4. Resolution 01-12 (Introduction/Vote)
Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into Memorandums of Understanding with the Franklin County Board of Elections for Use of Municipal Property in the Administration of Public Elections.

Authorizing the Provisions of Certain Incentives for the Purposes of Encouraging the Expansion of Nestle USA, Inc., dba Nestle Quality Assurance Center within the City of Dublin, Which Include Declaring Improvements to Certain Real Property, Including Real Property to be Developed as a Nestle USA, Inc., dba Nestle Quality Assurance Center Facility, to be a Public Purpose, Describing the Public Infrastructure Improvements to be Made to Benefit Such Real Property, Requiring the Owners Thereof to Make Service Payments in Lieu of Taxes, Providing for the Franklin County Treasurer to Distribute Service Payments to the Dublin City School District and the Tolles Career & Technical Center in the Amount Each Would Otherwise Receive Absent the Exemption, Creating a Municipal Public Improvement Tax Increment Equivalent Fund for the Deposit of the Balance of Such Service Payments, and Authorizing the Execution of Certain Real Estate Purchase and Conveyance Agreements and an Economic Development and Tax Increment Financing Agreement, All in Connection Therewith, and Declaring an Emergency.

STAFF COMMENTS

  • Consensus of Council that staff provide information for the January 23 meeting regarding potential changes to the sign code citywide, in keeping with the sign code changes adopted in the Economic Advancement Zone Code and proposed in the Bridge Street Corridor Code.

  • Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission representative:  Ms. Chinnici-Zuercher

  • Logan/Union/Champaign Regional Planning Commission representative:  Mr. Keenan

  • Council liaison to Dublin Board of Education:  Mr. Gerber

  • COTA Advisory Panel representative (to be determined)

COUNCIL ROUNDTABLE

  • Consensus of Council to have staff explore issues associated with existing private streets (number and type of such streets/drives existing, maintenance costs, policy of bringing to public street standards before being accepted by City, and how to address issue of private streets in the future).  Staff will include information on maintenance of private roadways in shopping centers as well.   

OF INTEREST

  • The Finance Committee review of 2012 hotel/motel tax grant applications has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 17 beginning at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.  Recommendations of the Committee will then be considered by Council at the Monday, January 23, 2012 Council meeting. 

  • The Council goal setting retreat dates have been changed to Thursday, February 23 from 5:30 to 9 p.m., and Friday, February 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Location to be determined.
