    MOTION CARRIED 6-0 TO APPROVE THE STAFF RECOMMENDATION THAT THE CITY VOTES “ NO” ON THE PROPOSED FEE INCREASES, AND THAT  STAFF SEND A LETTER TO THE SWACO BOARD TO OUTLINE DUBLIN’S POSITION ON THIS.  [DUBLIN IS SUPPORTIVE OF THE 2011 RATE INCREASE, BUT THE VOTE FOR THE 2011 AND 2012 RATE INCREASES IS BUNDLED TOGETHER.  DUBLIN DESIRES MORE DISCUSSION REGARDING THE PROPOSED 2012 RATE INCREASE BEFORE IMPLEMENTATION. DUBLIN REQUESTS THAT SWACO CONVENE THE SOLID WASTE RATE ADVISORY BOARD TO BETTER ANALYZE, DISCUSS AND COMMUNICATE THE NEED FOR THE 2012 INCREASE AS WELL AS LONGER TERM NEEDS.]

    NO HEARING REQUESTED REGARDING PERMIT
  • Motion approved 6-0 that the Dublin Cornet Band 501(c)(3) application for incorporation and tax exempt status be submitted and approved prior to distribution of the hotel/motel tax grant funds to the applicant.

OF INTEREST

  • A study session is scheduled for Monday, October 4 regarding the Bridge Street Corridor Study.  The session begins at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.

  • The Finance Committee of the Whole will meet on Monday, October 11 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers for the third quarter financial update and to review matters related to pending hotel/motel tax grant applications.

  • The next regularly scheduled Council meeting is on Monday, October 11 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
