2011 Annual Report
A message from City Manager Marsha Grigsby
The City of Dublin and its residents epitomize the picture of health. Just visit the Dublin Community Recreation Center, take a stroll through one of our 56 parks, play 18 holes at a local golf course, or go swimming at one of our two outdoor pools. Wherever you go, you'll see plenty of Dublin residents enjoying active pursuits: a Healthy City in Motion.
In 2011, the City of Dublin - in a community-wide partnership - kicked off the Healthy Dublin program to help our citizens each personal health goals and achieve a greater state of well-being.
Many elements go into creating a healthy community. It's vital to have the infrastructure and financial capabilities to support it. Dublin has been fortunate to have a long-standing tradition of leadership that has been forward-thinking in setting goals for the City, while being fiscally responsible in its fiduciary duties. This has allowed Dublin to grow into a well-planned, commercially diverse and economically stable community. It also has proven to be especially visionary in light of recent economic downturns, which the City of Dublin has weathered better than most municipalities across the country.
While City Council determines policy, the City Administration works diligently to implement it. Our focus is on maintaining a high level of service. We also look for ways that we can incorporate sustainable values knowing that what we do today can have long-term impacts on the community.
We have been gratified to hear from residents, through national and local surveys, that they consider Dublin to be an excellent place to live. We value endorsements like that, but will not rest on our laurels. We are implementing additional customer service training for our employees to ensure that we continue to meet the expectations of our residents. Our employees take great pride in their work. And that's a healthy outlook, and one that will continue to move our City forward.
Sincerely,
Marsha I. Grigsby, Dublin City Manager
